Breaks Explained

A break is a unique way of collecting cards. Rather than buying sealed product such as packs, boxes or cases, you buy a portion of the product at a much lower cost.

For example, say you are interested in a recently released product, but you only want the cards from your favourite team. Then buying a spot in a Pick Your Team break is perfect for you. The product is then opened on a live stream so you can see which cards are found within, and you are then sent your cards.

If you would like to see some examples, you can visit our YouTube or Facebook page and watch a past break or two to see how it all works.

Pick Your Team (PYT) – With this type of break you can pick and choose your favourite team(s) and specifically buy those spots in the break. Each team is priced according to the value of that team’s checklist in the product (for example, if that team has lots of exciting rookies in the product it is likely to be priced higher). This means that the teams vary in price.

Random Team (RT) – With this type of break you buy a random spot at a set price. At the start of the live stream, the breaker will put all spots into a randomizer on random.org and run it 7 times to assign the teams. This means that for a set cost you can end up with the most exciting, or the least exciting team in the product.

You will receive all cards from your purchased team (or player). That includes the hits, as well as the base cards (unless otherwise requested during checkout).

If you win any giveaways then you will receive those items as well. For more details on our current giveaways please see the Bounties & Giveaways page.

A mini is a portion of a break, split up into smaller pieces. Typically a mini is run to sell a few spots in the main break.

For example, if you purchase a spot in a 10 spot mini, that gives you a one entry to win whatever main break spots are included. We then run a randomiser to see which mini spots win which main break spots. Some mini spots will win entries into the main break and some will not win anything.

This makes joining a break more accessible as spots in a mini are typically much more affordable and this gives you a chance to win a spot in the main break.

A private is essentially the same as a break but all spots belong to one person!

The product(s) purchased are opened live on stream in front of the Trident community just as all other breaks are

Our Breaks

All of our breaks are scheduled so you won't be waiting around for hours for the live stream to start.

You can find more details about the start of the break in each break's listing.

We stream our breaks live on YouTube and Facebook.

Links can be found at the bottom of the page, or on our About Us page.

If you miss a live break you can always re-watch it later on YouTube and Facebook.

The best way to stay up to date with the releases of the latest breaks is by following us on our social media pages.

Links can be found at the bottom of the page or on our About Us page.

At the start of a live stream the breaker will take a list of all the owners of the sold spots and enter it into a list randomizer on random.org.

This list randomizer will then be run seven times and the resulting list will then be entered back into the original document in the new order, next to an alphabetical list of the teams/players in the break. This will decide who gets what team.

We use random.org as it has been evaluated by a number of independent bodies and accredited to generate randomness by several authorities.

Shipping

Singles will be shipped the following business day.

All breaks and privates are shipped weekly on Fridays. Any breaks completed on or before Wednesday will be included in that week's shipment. We sort on Thursdays and then ship out on Friday.

We take the utmost care in our packaging as we are passionate about the hobby ourselves and we want to make sure your cards always arrive with you in the same condition as we pulled them from the product.

All breaks and privates will include a tracking number. We only use Auspost shipping products that include tracking so you will always know where your cards are in the shipping process.

With the purchase of single cards, your order will be sent with tracking if your order total is over $60

Absolutely! At the moment it is only to a limited number of countries but we are working to expand that as we integrate more and more currencies, taxes, duties etc. Please check the checkout screen to see whether your country is included.

For customers in our supported countries, you will have two options upon checkout:

  1. Ship My Cards - Pay for shipping as you are checking out. We will ship your cards out to you as soon as possible as per our usual process
  2. Hold My Cards - Pay for shipping later, once you are ready to have your cards shipped to you. This is particularly helpful if you want to join multiple breaks and want to save money on shipping.
When you are ready to have your cards ship you can either add the "Ship My Cards" option to a purchase, or alternatively purchase shipping to your country on our International Shipping page

If you would like to join a break and find we don’t currently ship to your country please reach out to us and we’ll see what we can work out for you. You can find various ways to contact us on the About Us page.

Other

If a card has players on it from multiple teams, then the names of the teams are entered into a list randomizer on random.org and run seven times. The owner of the team at the top of the list will receive the card in question.

If a card has no team mentioned on it, then the first thing we look at is whether the player has been drafted and the card will go to the owner of the team who first drafted the player.

If the player has no team affiliation whatsoever then all teams are entered into a list randomizer on random.org and run seven times. The owner of the team at the top of the list will receive the card in question.

As some high-end products only have a very low number of cards it is possible that your spot does not receive any cards. We do our best to minimise these kinds of breaks by mixing in other products but unfortunately due to the random nature of the products we break it is possible to receive no cards from a break.

This is part of the risk when joining a high-end product break.
